The Truth

The Goodness of God

All my life He has been faithful.

When I first heard this song my thought was, “I can’t get behind all it’s saying. Because has God always been good? All my life He’s been faithful? Through all I’ve been through?” After some thought and prayer I have come to the conclusion that yes He has been.

Everything in my life and that has happened to me has not been good. However, I survived and right now God is strengthening me beyond what I can imagine. Going through the fire is excruciatingly hard, but God is with us. These words from the song speak to my heart because He has led me through the fire in the darkest nights and has been closer to me than any human being could have been.

“I love Your voice
You have led me through the fire
In darkest nights

You are close like no other
I’ve known You as a father

I’ve known You as a friend
I have lived in the goodness of God”

Even while I’m still in the fire He is here and He is with you. Rest in that today and sing of the goodness of God.

Goodness of God by: Bethel Music

Verse 1
I love You Lord
Oh Your mercy never fails me
All my days
I’ve been held in Your hands
From the moment that I wake up
Until I lay my head
I will sing of the goodness of God

Chorus
All my life You have been faithful
All my life You have been so, so good
With every breath that I am able
I will sing of the goodness of God

Verse 2
I love Your voice
You have led me through the fire
In darkest nights

You are close like no other
I’ve known You as a father

I’ve known You as a friend
I have lived in the goodness of God

Bridge
Your goodness is running after, it’s running after me

Your goodness is running after, it’s running after me

With my life laid down, I’m surrendered now, I give You everything

Your goodness is running after, it’s running after me
